Hummus is a dip or spread typical for Middle Eastern and Arabic cuisine, made of cooked chickpeas and tahini paste. The name comes from Arabic word حمّص ḥummuṣ and simply means chickpeas. To prepare our hummus we used canned chickpeas, tahini paste and roasted peppers. You can buy them ready made in a jar or roast them yourself in an oven. They need to be very soft. If the paste turns out too thick, just add an additional spoon or two of water. Serve with naan or pita bread or vegetable sticks (carrot, cucumber etc.). Enjoy.
